Mainly when citation styles differ depending on usage.  However, Microsoft Word can help you by automatically inserting references and citations.  


For this, go to the 'References' tab, click on 'Insert Citation' and add details about the text or work you wish to cite.  


Finally, you can add a bibliography or list of references at the end of the document.
